After working on this thing for almost a year, Brigid's project is done and delivered.
The first part of a project like this is tailoring the design to the client's personality and preferences.
The rest took a while because I inadvertantly found a sunlight-curing method which looked great on one of the panels which took about four months. The rest was just a lot of detail work: carving, dyeing, painting and blind-stitching.
Anyway, the client's happy, I'm happy, and now I'm going to take break for a little bit on leather-smithing, or whatever you're supposed to call it.

The design on the anterior panel is a Celtic Maternity Knot. Traditionally, this design incorporates markings such as the green dots seen here to represent children. In order to designate direct children and step or foster children, the marks are either interior or exterior.
