The plan does not always go according to plan; that's a straight fact, not my opinion. I certainly didn't plan on getting pneumonia on this trip, however, I also anticipated camping at the aeropuerto for over 24 hours because of how the arrangements worked out.
Instead, the very sweet lady at the airline ticket office informed that while it wasn't possible to leave a day early, it was possible to secure a room for me at a nearby hotel. Sweet!
So today, I am laid up sick at the Hotel Auditórium, watching Spanish TV & drinking some cough syrup that absolutely knocks me on my heiney.
I may take a cab back down to the Puerta de Sol for the New Years festivities if I feel better tonight. It looks like it's gonna be straight madness there though. Last night, on New Year's Eve-Eve, there were guys walking around the streets blowing 1/4 sticks of dynamite!
Anyway, all in all, it's been a really wonderful trip. This is something I've wanted to do for so long. I'm glad I got to share this with you guys, and hopefully, I'll see you soon.
